What can one say but WOW!
Our Neon Tour was an amazing display of all types of vintage neon
products from juke boxes to signs to gas pumps. And in addition,
there were many types of soft drink items, including coolers,
dispensers, wall signs, neon signs, as well as advertising posters.
Special thanks go to Jeanette and
Joe Wright for setting up this tour again, due to popular
demand.
We met at the Rendezvous Restaurant
on Mt. Lehman Road and had a most delicious brunch of just about
anything your heart could desire, and from there headed off for the
tour. And what a tour it was.
We were treated to a flawless
collection (and a great history lesson) of all eras of beautifully
restored and original juke boxes, soft drink machines, enamel signs,
pinball machines, gas pumps plus a huge number of neon signs, one
armed bandits, and, yes, a merry-go-round.
Many, many thanks go to our genial,
generous and knowledgeable host, Ivan, for opening his
collection to us.
There
is also a fine write-up done of this tour (and more about our club)
by Frank Nicolette in the latest The Vintage
Car.
Great pics, great article.
