Valentine's Day Tour to Derby Reach
February 14, 2022

What better way to treat your sweetheart than a car run followed by a wiener roast on Valentines Day.  Or to celebrate your 53rd wedding anniversary (Al and Cindy)
We left the Tim Hortons at the auto mall at 11:00 sharp. Followed a lovely country road tour through some beautiful residential backroads and arrived at the shelter at Derby Reach Park (Edgewater Bar) about noon.  Here Regan and Rebecca Lewis had secured our sheltered spot on the river and started a bonfire for the group.

After a gathering around and cooking over the open fire – and of course, much criticism of how to cook the best hot dog, we enjoyed our lunch.  This we followed with some “Minute to Win It” games with a Valentine theme.  After a very competitive round, scores were tallied, and the winner was Regan Lewis.  With the prize being a bouquet of flowers, he graciously presented them to Tracy.

The weather co-operated nicely and we were able to enjoy the social time till the fire burned down.   Many thanks to organizers Frank and Kathy Nicolette, Joe and Jeanette Wright and thanks to Regan and Rebecca Lewis for getting there early to get the fire pit going.

Looking forward to doing this again.
